For modifications on Fender® Jaguar, Mustang and similar models

The Switchcraft DP3T on-on-on switch is a standard component for certain Fender models and, with its three positions, offers more options than a conventional 2-way switch.

Suitable by Model
Fender Mustang / Duo-Sonic: This is the original replacement switch (Fender Part# 0080147000). It is used to switch the pickups in the positions "Phase Off" – "Off" – "Phase On" (or similar configurations).
Fender Jaguar: Here, it is interesting as a modification. By default, the Jaguar uses DPDT switches with 2 positions (On/Off). With the DP3T version, you can add a third option, such as wiring both pickups in series or using different capacitor values ​​for the "strangle switch."

Contact Configuration (DP3T): The switch has 8 solder lugs (2 poles with 4 connections each).
Switching Function: The 3 positions (On-On-On) allow for complex wiring configurations, where the center position often bridges different contacts simultaneously.
Power Rating: At 3 A / 125 V, it is more than adequately rated for the weak signals of passive pickups.
Mounting: As it is a panel mount, it fits directly into the metal control plates of Fender guitars.

Important Installation Notes

Mounting: The mounting holes on Switchcraft switches are often not threaded. You will usually need suitable screws and nuts (often US size 4-40), which are frequently not included.

Wiring Diagram: Since the DP3T has more connections than the standard Jaguar switch, you must adjust the wiring diagram precisely. A direct 1:1 swap without rewiring will not work if a 2-position switch was previously installed.
